Pet parents in the United States have a new option for picking up prescriptions for their furry friends. CVS Health announced that common prescriptions for cats and dogs are now being sold at thousands of CVS Pharmacy locations around the country, giving people another convenient way to have their pets’ prescriptions filled efficiently when they need them.

A Variety of Pet Prescriptions Can Now Be Filled at CVS Pharmacies

Pet-only medications that you can now purchase at CVS include flea and tick control products, pain relievers, allergy medications, insulin, and antibiotics.

You’ll need to get a written prescription from your veterinarian, which you can bring to CVS when you’re ready to place your order, or you can ask your vet to contact CVS directly instead. Then, they’ll fill the prescription, and you can choose between delivery or in-store pickup.

If you have a CVS.com profile and the CVS Health app, you can add your pets to it and manage their prescriptions. You can also take advantage of pharmacy services, such as prescription syncing and automatic refills. And you might be able to have certain medications delivered to your door, too.

CVS plans on adding more features, such as electronic prescription capabilities, for even more convenience and ease in the near future.

All of this can help you save time when your veterinarian prescribes a product for your canine or feline companion. Plus, if you compare pricing between different pharmacies, you might even find that you can save money by filling prescriptions at CVS.

Another Convenient Option for Busy Pet Parents

CVS stores sell a variety of pet products, so you can shop there for food, treats, grooming products, and more while you wait for your pet’s prescription to be filled. So, busy pet parents have another option for their pet’s health and daily needs, and this is great news, especially for those with limited options when it comes to where to get their pet’s medications.
