The Farmer's Dog has expanded beyond the food bowl with Crunchy Biscuits, a new line of all-natural, human-grade treats built on the same real-food philosophy that made the brand a household name among devoted pet parents.

The company, considered to be a leader in real, human-grade dog food, announced the launch as a way to carry its standards into what it calls one of the most meaningful daily rituals people share with their dogs — treat time. For the millions of furry family members who get a biscuit after a walk or a well-earned "good boy," the pitch is simple: snacks should be held to the same standard as dinner.

Now, for my dogs, anything with a snap, crackle, or pop (nope, not that cereal) immediately gains their attention. That's why something like these new Crunchy Biscuits that are made with real, simple, whole-food ingredients, no added sugars, fillers, or artificial preservatives yet a seriously crispy texture, will be such a draw for them and I'm guessing, thousands of other dogs.

And because treats can make up a fairly hefty share of what a dog eats in a given day, the brand argues those calories deserve as much scrutiny as anything in the food bowl. Couldn't agree more!

Now, these new treats come in three flavors — Beef & Sweet Potato, Goat Milk & Blueberries, and Peanut Butter & Pumpkin with each promising a clean, low-mess crunch and the smell of real food. According to The Farmer's Dog, they were developed by the company's on-staff Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionists and clock in at just 9 calories per biscuit. Moreover, each biscuit features a snap line, letting pet parents break treats into smaller pieces for easy portioning during training or for smaller dogs. Loving this idea!

The launch reflects the brand's belief that people are raising the bar for what they feed their dogs, and that treats should keep pace. "We started The Farmer's Dog because we knew dogs needed an alternative to the ultra-processed pellets that had become the industry standard, and we're bringing that same thinking to treats," said Jonathan Regev, CEO and Co-Founder of The Farmer's Dog.

Regev framed the new line as a logical next step for a company that has already reshaped how many owners think about mealtime. "As people raise the standard for their dogs' everyday food, we think they should have better options for treats, too. That's why we created Crunchy Biscuits."

Since it's founding, The Farmer's Dog has reportedly provided more than one billion meals to pets throughout the country. Something they feel clearly indicates how the conversation around feeding dogs is changing. And that's what provided the catalyst to introducing healthy, multi-purpose treats that can be for everything from training to rewarding.

Best of all, they've expanded distribution making Crunchy Biscuits available not only to subscribers but pet parents shopping on the Walmart website. A perfect way to extend their reach into a new test market.

For pet parents already sold on human-grade nutrition, the appeal is clear. It is a treat that celebrates a walk, rewards good behavior, or marks a quiet moment together without the sugars and fillers that define much of the biscuit aisle. Ultimately, whether the low-calorie count and real-food ingredients justify a spot in the treat jar will come down to each dog — and each owner willing to raise the standard for that everyday bond. Count me in!
